Nach dem Bau einer Brücke ist Fährbootsbesitzer Flint überflüssig geworden. Als er den Tank des Schiffs kontrolliert, wird ihm seine Pfeife zum Verhängnis: Nach einer tödlichen Explosion landet Flint als Engel im Himmel.
