Magische Melodien
Traditionelle Melodien aus Irland, England und Schottland berühren unser Herz auf geradezu magische Weise. Auf dieser Produktion eröffnet das Duo spirit & pleasure Einblicke in die musikalische Welt dieser drei angelsächsischen Länder im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert. Zu hören sind alte Stücke, die sehr lange nur mündlich überliefert waren, sowie neu komponierte Musik im traditionellen Stil. Selbst Komponisten des Barock, die man eher der höfischen bzw. bürgerlichen Musik zuordnen würde, entdeckten den Reiz dieser Melodien, versahen sie mit Generalbass und Variationen und veröffentlichten sie wie z. B. der Wahl-Engländer Francesco Geminiani in seinem Treatise of Good Taste in the Art of Music.
