Sonny Clark, einer der besten Pianisten und Komponisten der Hard-Bop-Ära, zeigte sich auf seinem äußerst swingenden Blue-Note-Debüt »Dial "S" for Sonny« von 1957 in voller Form. Clark stellte für diesen Anlass ein hochkarätiges Sextett zusammen: Art Farmer an der Trompete, Curtis Fuller an der Posaune, Hank Mobley am Tenorsaxophon, Wilbur Ware am Bass und Louis Hayes am Schlagzeug.
Diese Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition ist mono, komplett analog, von Kevin Gray von den Original-Masterbändern gemastert und auf 180g Vinyl bei Optimal gepresst.
