Insgesamt schaffte Rosemary Clooney, die Tante des Schauspielers George Clooney, mit 25 Titeln den Sprung in die amerikanischen Billboard Charts. Auf etlichen Tourneen begeisterte sie ihr Publikum auf der ganzen Welt. Rosemary Clooney gehörte zweifellos zu den weiblichen Superstars der amerikanischen Pop-Szene.

Sie wurde 1928 in Kentucky geboren. 1948 begann Rosemary Clooney ihre Gesangskarriere. Bald wurde sie zu Fernseh- und Radio-Shows eingeladen, gab zahlreiche Konzerte, feierte Erfolge mit ihren Alben und hatte Engagements in Nachtclubs; sogar Hollywood klopfte an. In dem Streifen White Christmas hinterließ sie neben Superstar Bing Crosby großen Eindruck. Wie viele andere Stars nahm Rosemary Clooney mit berühmten Kolleginnen und Kollegen gemeinsame Platten auf – unter anderen mit Guy Mitchell, Bing Crosby, Tony Pastor, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Buddy Cole, Harry James, ihrer Schwester Betty Clooney und Marlene Dietrich.

Rosemary Clooney war eine der beliebtesten Allround-Künstlerinnen in den 1950er Jahren. Im Jahr 2002 bekam sie einen Grammy für ihr Lebenswerk. Noch im selben Jahr starb Rosemary Clooney im Alter von 72 Jahren.
