Das außerordentliche Zusammentreffen zweier Legenden des Jazz! Zum ersten Mal haben der »schnellste Geiger der Welt«, Roby Lakatos, und der »Teufelsheld der Gitarre«, Biréli Lagrène, für eine einzigartige Hommage an Stéphane Grappelli und Django Reinhardt eine CD eingespielt.
Beide spielten in ihrer Jugend zusammen mit Stéphane Grappelli. Für das vorliegende Album haben sich Lakatos und Lagrène zusammengetan mit dem starken Modern Art Orchestra und zwei Jazz-Spielern der jüngeren Generation, dem Top-Schlagzeuger Niek de Bruijn und der neusten Sensation im Jazz, dem Gitarristen Andreas Varady. Das alles ergibt eine explosive Hommage an den Gypsy-Jazz, mit Standards wie Djangology, Nuages, Stella by Starlight und Nuits de Saint-Germain-Des-Près.
