Dieses Album ist eines der besten Beispiele für Soul-Jazz-Crossover aus den frühen 1960er Jahren und zeigt Ray Charles in Begleitung von Mitgliedern der Count Basie- Band, darunter Solisten wie die Trompeter Clark Terry, Thad Jones und Joe Newman.
Der größte Teil des Albums ist instrumental und swingt lebhaft, obwohl Charles auf »I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town« und »I've Got News for You« singt. Eines der Instrumentals, »One Mint Julep«, bescherte Ray Charles einen seiner unerwartetsten Hits. Quincy Jones schrieb die Hälfte der Arrangements des Albums, während Ralph Burns die andere Hälfte lieferte. Es erhielt eine 4½-Sterne-Bewertung bei AllMusic.
