Diese Hommage an Jerome Kern (1885 - 1945) entstand 1959 in Trio Besetzung mit Ray Brown am Bass und Ed Thigpen am Schlagzeug. Peterson hatte 1953 eine frühere Jerome Kern Songbook LP aufgenommen, als das Trio aus Ray Brown und Gitarrist Barney Kessel bestand.
Drei Kern-Songs, die für das Album von 1959 nicht aufgenommen wurden und die Peterson selten gespielt hat, wurden als Bonus hinzugefügt.
