The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Oliver Nelson ist der Nachwelt vorrangig als Arrangeur und Band-Leader ein Begriff. Als er mit einer Reihe von Aufnahmen für das Label Prestige auf sich aufmerksam machte, wurde er als Leader kleiner Ensembles und Komponist gefeiert, der musikalische Traditionen auffrischte und zugleich nach vorne sah. Screamin' the Blues ist ein hervorragender Beweis dafür: ein mitreißendes, funkig-modernes Set, interpretiert von einem virtuosen und visionären Sextett. Mit dabei sind Saxophonist Eric Dolphy sowie Richard Williams, Richard Wyands, George Duvivier und Roy Haynes. Die Aufnahme machte Rudy van Gelder, das Remastering der Hybrid-SACD für Analogue Productions übernahm Kevin Gray. Beiliegendes vierseitiges Booklet mit Liner Notes von Nat Hentoff.
