Der Saxofonist Ohad Talmor, ausdrucksstarker Improvisator und hervorragender Stilist, ist ein Kosmopolit mit französischer, schweizerischer, israelischer und US-amerikanischer Staatsangehörigkeit. Seit er 1995 zum Studium nach New York kam, wirkt er als »mover and shaker« der kreativen Brooklyner Jazzszene.
Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts »Back to the Land« stehen bisher unveröffentlichte Kompositionen Ornette Colemans. Talmor entdeckte im Nachlass seines 2020 verstorbenen Freundes Lee Konitz drei Bänder mit Probeaufnahmen von Coleman und Konitz. Er transkribierte die Titel und spielte sie mit Chris Tordini (Bass) und Eric McPherson (Schlagzeug) sowie hochkarätigen Gastmusikern ein.
