Am Fuße der Alpen aufgewachsen, ist das Bergsteigen für Francel ein natürliches Bedürfnis: »Hier oben gewinnt der Geist eine großzügige Haltung. Die Probleme und Proportio- nen des Alltags bleiben im Tal.« Über mehrere Jahre stieg er mit musikalischen Freund*innen hinauf. Dort oben schweigt die Zivilisation. Keine Motoren, kein digitales Piepsen. Die völlige Offenheit der tonalen und visuellen Ausbreitung. Aus der Perspektive des Gipfels entstanden wesentliche Musik- aufnahmen. Später im Studio wurden sie ergänzt und zum Album verdichtet.
