Leyla McCalla singt sowohl auf Englisch als auch teilweise auf Französisch, was ihren multinationalen Ansatz unterstreicht. Als Multiinstrumentalistin spielt sie u.a. Cello, Banjo und Gitarre. Bei den Aufnahmen zum aktuellen Album wurde sie darüber hinaus von Ausnahmemusikern wir beispielsweise Marc Ribot unterstützt, was das vorliegende Album zu ihrem bisher besten Werk macht.
