Idris Mohammeds "House Of The Rising Sun" ist ein herrlicher Rückfall in die glorreichen Tage der Disco-Musik. Es zählt zu den besten Alben, die er jemals aufgenommen hat. Das Album enthält ein funkiges "Chopin" -Cover, "Theme From New York City", das heruntergekommene und schmutzige funkige Cover von "Hey Pocky A Way", "Pipe Stem" (ein Muhammad-Original mit Latin-Jazz-Anleihen) und " I Know You Don't Want Me No More". Absolutes Highlight des Albums ist das unglaublich brodelnde Instrumental "Sudan", das einzige andere Muhammad-Original auf dem Album. Was dieser Mann am Schlagzeug abzieht, ist absolut erstaunlich. Zu den mitwirkenden Musikern zählen Eric Gale, Don Grolnick und David Sanborn.
