Als man Grazyna Bienkowski kontaktierte, um an der Satie's Vexations-Reihe teilzunehmen, war sie sofort interessiert. Satie ist ein Komponist, den sie sehr liebt und den sie schon oft als Pianistin aufgeführt hat. Allerdings hatte sie sich noch nie mit diesem kurzen Stück befasst, das 840x hintereinander gespielt werden sollte. Trotz des Zwangs zur Wiederholung gab es vielfältige Möglichkeiten, mit dem Text zu spielen. Hierfür holte sie sich u. a. weitere Musiker ins Studio und ließ verschiedene
musikalische Sphären vom Barock bis zum Jazz in ihre Interpretation einfließen.
