Gary Burton, "der Anführer der modernen Jazzszene", der Pat Metheny, Makoto Ozone und viele andere Genies entdeckte, hinterließ 1961 sein erstes Leader-Album. Burton war zu diesem Zeitpunkt 18 Jahre alt. Sein frisches Spiel, inspiriert von Bill Evans' Klavier und Chet Atkins' Gitarre, eröffnete eine neue Seite in der Welt des Jazzvibraphons. Unterstützt wurde er von Joe Morello, dem Schlagzeuger des Dave Brubeck Quartetts.
