Ab den späten 1920er Jahren führten seine Werke zu einer ganzen Reihe herausragender Erfolge, sowohl auf der Bühne als auch in Filmmusicals. »Anything Goes!« präsentiert seine wohl 56 berühmtesten Kompositionen auf zwei sehr gut gefüllten CDs.
Die Künstlerliste ist phänomenal und wurde meist aus zeitgenössischen Aufnahmen bis hin zu Erstveröffentlichungen ausgewählt. Cole Porter selbst ist sowohl als Sänger als auch als Pianist auf »Anything Goes« und »You're The Top« aus dem Erfolgsmusical »Anything Goes« zu hören (das auch Ethel Mermans atemberaubendes »I Get A Kick Out Of You« produzierte).
