Eine kleine Ergänzung...

...zu meiner CD-Empfehlung: Die LP enthält leider nur 7 Titel (CD deren 12), deshalb vergebe ich nur 4 Sterne an die Gesamtbewertung. Doch die Pressqualität ist hervorragend. Aber der Preis für die LP ist leider prohibitiv hoch.

Eine virtuose und empfehlenswerte akustische Trio-CD

Eine Trioeinspielung unter der Leitung des virtuosen Bassisten Brian Bromberg (geb.1960), mit dem ausgezeichneten Pianisten Tom Zink und dem überzeugenden Drummer Charles Ruggiero, (beide waren mir zuvor unbekannt). Die gespielten Tunes (ausser Scotty's Song) wurden vom legendären Bill Evans Trio (mit Scott LaFaro (b) und Paul Motian (dm) eingespielt. Das akustisch hervorragende Bassspiel des virtuosen Bromberg steht im Zentrum dieser Einspielung, vorbildlich aufgezeichnet ist aber die ganze Session. Doch den Zauber des Bill Evans Trios erreicht diese Einspielung nicht ganz, ist aber dennoch höchst beachtlich. Brombergs Virtuosität und Intonationssicherheit auf dem akustischen Bass sind erstaunlich. Die gespielten Tunes

Eine kleine Ergänzung zu meiner Empfehlung

In his liner notes, Bromberg wrote: “I hope you can appreciate the spirit in this recording and the respect I have for Scott LaFaro’s enormous contribution to jazz bass playing and jazz music in general. Thank you, Scotty, for paving the way and opening the door for the rest of us who have dedicated our lives to being a jazz bassist.” LaFaro will be released April 5 on CD, LP, and digital, through Bromberg’s Be Squared Productions label.
