Diese Veröffentlichung enthält zwei äußerst seltene Aufnahmen von Bill Evans als Sideman, die beide hier zum ersten Mal überhaupt auf CD erscheinen. The Mello Sound of Don Elliott (Decca DC9208) wurde im Februar 1958 aufgenommen, kurz bevor Evans sich dem Miles Davis Sextett anschloss. Mit dem Leader und dem Pianisten sind der Reedman Hal McKusick und der zukünftige Schlagzeuger des Bill Evans Trios, Paul Motian, zu hören. Listen to the Music of Jerry Wald (Kapp KL1043) wurde 1955 aufgenommen und zeigt Wald auf der Klarinette zusammen mit Evans, Eddie Costa und Paul Motian, der zum ersten Mal überhaupt mit dem Pianisten zusammenarbeitete.
