Der in Frankreich geborene studierte Bassist und Kontrabassist Basile Rahola hat bereits in zahlreichen internationalen Konstellationen Bühnen und Studios bespielt, »From One Path To Another« ist nach »Moments« (2021) sein zweites Solowerk als Leader. Die zehn fein austarierten Songs sind von erstaunlicher Reife und Lässigkeit, die spielerische Freiheit in Wajdis brillanten Piano-Soli wird durch die verbindende Subtilität von Van Der Brande's Saxophonspiel aufgefangen und durch Pierre Hurtys Schlagzeugspiel geerdet. Basile leitet dieses Trio mit seinem Spiel wie ein weiser Philosoph, mit Flexibilität und Intelligenz.
