Die Chicagoer Sängerin und Pianistin Audrey Morris (1928–2018) hatte sich auf Jazzballaden spezialisiert. »Bistro Ballads« (1955) war ihr Debütalbum und eine von nur zwei LPs, die sie in ihrer Blütezeit herausbrachte.
Nachdem sie die beiden oben genannten Alben veröffentlicht hatte, nahm Morris erst 1985 wieder auf! »Bistro Ballads« zeigt Morris sowohl als Sängerin als auch am Klavier in Begleitung des renommierten Chicagoer Musikdirektors Johnny Pate am Bass und Charles Walton am Schlagzeug.
