Paul Motian veröffentlicht zu seinem 80. Geburtstag das Album „The Windmills Of Your Mind“ mit Bill Frisell, Gitarre, Thomas Morgan, Bass und Petra Haden, Gesang. Produzent Stefan Winter verzichtet vollkommen auf digitale Technik oder Klang-Effekte. Die Musik wird direkt auf Stereo-Magnet-Tonband live aufgezeichnet. Das Moment der Aufnahme steht im absoluten Mittelpunkt, somit kommt die besondere analoge Klangqualität zur vollen Geltung, dies ist besonders wichtig, da der unverfälschte Analog-Klang für hochwertige Vinyl-Produktionen unabdingbar ist. Der Umweg über ein sonst übliches digitales Master für Vinyl wird somit vermieden. Motian wählt Broadway-Hits wie „Let‘s face the music and dance“ oder „I loves you Porgy“ und auch eigene Kompositionen aus. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Bill Frisell und Thomas Morgan verspricht höchste Kunst der Jazzimprovisation. Petra Haden, Charlie Hadens Tochter, vollendet dieses neue Quartett.

In March 2011 Paul Motian celebrates his 80th birthday and Winter&Winter releases his new album »The Windmills Of Your Mind« with Bill Frisell (guitar), Thomas Morgan (bass) and Petra Haden (vocals). Motian presents Broadway hits like "Let's face the music and dance", "I loves you Porgy" and also original compositions. The artistic collaboration with Bill Frisell and Thomas Morgan is a great musical gift for all lovers of Paul Motian's music. Singer Petra Haden, Charlie Haden's daughter, completes this new quartet.
