After 5 albums published with a Japanese label (the penultimate »Luna del sud«, included among »The chosen Albums« by Billboard Japan) Paolo Di Sabatino Joins Via Veneto Jazz and returns to the Italian and European market with an »international breath« album.
In »Distant Look«, in fact, He plays together with the great American guitarist John Abercrombie, recognized throughout the world as an icon of his own instrument. There are 10 tracks on this Cd: 7 of these are signed by Paolo di Sabatino and 3 appropriately arranged by the Di Sabatino himself. The 5 tracks played with John Abercrombie have been made thinking of the warm and well- defined sound by John.
It's the first time that Di Sabatino has a guitarist in his works, and cause of the sensitivity of the balance between guitar and piano, Paul wanted to take advantage of the personality of one of the world leaders of jazz guitar. Jack didn't disappoint expectations, lowering perfectly himself into the music, and playing the original songs by Di Sabatino (there's also a Waltz for John A.) with all the musicality that has always distinguished himself. It's of great importance the interaction between musicians and the interplay developed between Paul and John, two musicians who have in the sound and in the melodic lyricism the strength of their own style. Luca Bulgarelli, among the best and most popular Italian bass, and Glauco Di Sabatino, for years alongside his brother Paul, made a vital contribution to the success of the recording.
