Zudem hat Neil Cowley Klavier auf den beiden Erfolgsalben "19" und "21" von Superstar Adele gespielt. Nichtsdestotrotz ist sein liebstes Projekt das eigene Neil Cowley Trio, deren Debütscheibe "Displaced" 2007 den BBC Jazz Award für das beste Album gewann. Noch im gleichen Jahr fand die erste umfangreiche Englandtournee der Gruppe statt.

2012 veröffentlichte das Neil Cowley Trio sein aktuelles Album "The Face Of Mount Molehill", auf dem die drei Musiker - ebenso wie später auf der Tournee - mit einem Streichensemble zusammenarbeiteten.
Am 11. Juli 2012 kam es zu ihrem ersten Auftritt beim renommierten Montreux Jazz Festival. Die Show konzentriert sich vorrangig auf Material des Albums "The Face Of Mount Molehill", aufgelockert durch Stücke der vorherigen Veröffentlichungen. Das Trio besteht aus virtuosen Musikern, angeführt von Neil Cowley, einem perfekten Entertainer mit typisch britischem Humor und der Gabe, eine wundervolle Beziehung zu seinem Publikum herzustellen. All das und noch viel mehr dokumentiert dieses sehenswerte Konzert aus Montreux.

As a much in demand young pianist, Neil Cowley cut his teeth on albums by the likes of the Pasadenas, Brand New Heavies and Zero 7. More recently he played piano on both of Adele’s global bestselling albums “19” and “21”. However the project closest to his heart is the Neil Cowley Trio. Their debut album “Displaced” won the 2007 BBC Jazz Award for Best Album and the trio undertook their first full UK tour in the same year. In 2012 the Trio released their latest album “The Face Of Mount Molehill”, which sees them recording (& later touring) with a string ensemble. On 11 July they made their debut appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The show focuses primarily on the “The Face Of Mount Molehill” album with a scattering of tracks from their previous releases. The Trio are virtuoso musicians and Neil Cowley is a consummate live performer with a distinctively English wit and the ability to create a marvellous rapport with his audience, as ably demonstrated in the concert captured here.
