Nach seinem Colours Jazz Orchestra und unzähligen Konzerten mit den unterschiedlichsten Formationen entschied Posaunist Massimo Morganti, sich Zeit für sich selbst zu nehmen, ganz persönliche Lieder zu schreiben und sie auf Musiplano umzusetzen. Ein wesentliches Anliegen ist es ihm, die Posaune von ihrer Jazzseite zu zeigen. Morganti will ihre melodische Seite hervorheben, den reinen Sound, aber auch den modernen, der dosiert von Effektgeräten beeinflusst wird. Mithilfe dieses veränderten Sounds gelingt es ihm, neue musikalische Ideen zu entwickeln, die nicht direkt mit der bekannten Posaunenstimme verbunden werden. Mit seinen Musikern spielt Massimo Morganti schon seit langer Zeit. Diese Vertrautheit ist ihm als Bandleader besonders wichtig, denn sie macht es ihm und dem Quartett möglich, jederzeit in jede beliebige musikalische Richtung zu gehen. Bemerkenswert auch: der Titel 'Bill Ates' ist seine ganz persönliche 'Abrechnung' mit dem Microsoft-Gründer, dessen italienische Word-Version in der Autokorrektur ständig das G aus Morganti entfernt hat, weswegen unzählige Poster und Konzertankündigungen seinen unvollständigen Namen wiedergaben.

After installing his Colours Jazz Orchestra and playing numerous concerts with many bands, trombonist Massimo Morganti decided to dedicate more time for himself writing very personal pieces and release them with his Massimorganti Quartet on the album Musiplano.
His main wish was to show the “jazz side” of the trombone. Morganti wants to distinguish its melodic side, the pure sound, but also a more modern sound slightly influenced by effects. With this sound he succeeded creating new musical ideas, which do not relate directly to the known "trombone voice". Massimo Morganti has played with his fellow musicians for a long time now. This familiarity is very important to the bandleader since it allows him and the quartet to head for any direction that the music requires.
This idea is well supported in the eponymous piece Musiplano: A comfortable musical journey available for everyone at any time anywhere in the musical aeroplane – the Musiplano. As mentioned before the album also contains very personal pieces as the menacing Signor K. or the melancholic I’ll remember April. Songs dedicated to Morganti’s father who died of cancer (Signor K.) in the month of April.
On the other hand there is the witty piece Bill Ates, the very personal “payoff” with the Microsoft founder. The Italian version of Word constantly erased the G in Morganti which had the affect that lots of posters and concert announcements only showed his incomplete name.
