"Kuára" ist das Debütalbum des norwegisch-finnischen Ensembles Per Jørgensen (Trompete, Vocals), Samuli Mikkonen (Piano) und Leader Markku Ounaskari (Drums). Dem eingeweihten Hörer erschließt sich schon nach wenigen Takten das es sich um ein ECM-Album handelt. Zu atmosphärisch ist die brilliant klingende Produktion, zu getragen sind die Melodien und zu weit und schillernd die Harmoniebögen, als das ein anderer Rückschluss möglich wäre. Das Trio um Markku Ounaskari bereichert dass langjährige nordische Künstlerspektrum ECMs um eine neue, so spannende wie inhaltlich passende, Nuance. Jørgensen, Mikkonen und Ounaskari interpretieren auf wundersam schöne Art und Weise Melodien und musikalische Themen des skandinavisch-europäischen Landstrichs Karelien in der klaren Form und Sprache des skandinavischen Jazz.
