Hank Mobleys Klassiker Workout war eines von drei Alben, das der Tenor Saxophonist mit dem Gitarrenmagiker Grant Green aufgenommen hat.
Der Rest der Gruppe bestand aus der klassischen Miles Davis Quintett Rhythmusabteilung, Wynton Kelly am Piano und Paul Chambers am Bass, plus Philly Joe Jones am Schlagzeug, der damals schon nicht mehr mit Miles Davis spielte.
Als Bonus gibt es Mobleys komplettes Album Hank Mobley Quartet, das ebenfalls eine All-Star Rhythmusabteilung vorweisen kann.
