Multi Grammy Award-winning George Benson teamed up in 1987 with his former protégé Earl Klugh to make a smooth jazz album, combining electric and acoustic guitars. Earl Klugh made his first recording at age 15 (with Yusef Lateef), and only a few years later joined George Benson's touring band (after he had already played on Benson's White Rabbit album in 1971). On the instrumental album Collaboration – originally released in 1987 – Benson and Klugh are backed by Harvey Mason (drums), Paulinho Da Costa (percussion), Marcu Miller (bass), Greg Phillinganes (keyboards & synthesizers) and Paul Jackson (rhythm guitar).
