New York Album
The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Der Produzent John Snyder hatte Pepper schon immer aufnehmen wollen und buchte ihn für eine Woche im Village Vanguard in New York. Pepper stand damals bei Contemporary Records unter Vertrag, und der Chef des Labels, Les Koenig, beschloss, die Auftritte mitzuschneiden, und verwarf damit jede Idee Snyders, dies ebenfalls zu tun. Allerdings versprach Art Snyder, dass er irgendwann ein Album für Snyders Label Artists House aufnehmen würde. Zusammen haben sie schließlich vier gemacht.
Hier sind die Originalalben aus diesen Sessions, liebevoll in ihrer ursprünglichen Form wiederhergestellt, remastered von Grammy®-Gewinner Michael Graves und neu geschnitten von Jeff Powell.
Das New York Album (ursprünglich 1985 erschienen) enthält Peppers Interpretationen von Klassikern wie »A Night In Tunisia«, »Lover Man (Oh Where Can You Be)« und Thelonious Monks »Straight, No Chaser« - sowie ein paar Pepper-Originale. Die CD enthält fünf Bonusauftritte aus den Sessions.
