Faithless style come back with opening vocal by Maxi Jazz
Faithless return with Champion Sound, a bold and emotive four-part sonic journey that marks their first full-length release since 2020 and their first since the passing of iconic frontman Maxi Jazz. His voice opens the album on “Forever Free,” delivering a poignant message: “Be as completely you as you can be.” This sets the tone for a record that celebrates life, loss, and the enduring power of music.
The album is divided into four thematic acts—Forever Free, Phone Number, Book of Hours, and Champion Sound—each showcasing a different facet of the band’s sound. From trance-tinged club tracks like “In Your Own Groove” to the orchestral, ambient beauty of “Book of Hours,” Faithless blend house, dub, spoken word, and pop with their signature depth and elegance.
Guest appearances from Bebe Rexha, Suli Breaks, Emmanuel Jal, and others add fresh energy, while Sister Bliss and Rollo steer the production with finesse. Though it runs over 75 minutes, Champion Sound remains immersive and heartfelt, a testament to Faithless’ legacy and their ability to evolve without losing their soul.
