Barocke Feste in der Stadt der Medici
Die Florentiner Musiker im ausgehenden 16. Jahrhundert strebten mit ihren prächtigen intermedii die perfekte Verbindung von Musik und Dichtung an. Diese unterhaltsamen Einlagen, die nach antikem Vorbild in Theaterstücke eingeschoben wurden, zeichneten sich durch eine große Pracht des Bühnen- und Klangapparats aus. Schon bald sollte diese Verbindung von Musik und Theater aus der Feder von Komponisten wie Peri, Caccini, Monteverdi und Gagliano die Oper hervorbringen.
Anstatt einer unmöglichen Rekonstruktion hat Raphaël Pichon ein imaginäres Intermedium erdacht, in dem Apollo, Orpheus und Eurydike auftreten, vor allem aber Amor, Amor, Amor!
