Der britische Komponist und Multiinstrumentalist Roger Eno präsentiert »Without Wind / Without Air«, sein drittes Soloalbum für Deutsche Grammophon. Die LP enthält zwölf Stücke für Klavier solo und Orchesterensemble.
Um Freude, Leid und Vergänglichkeit von Leben und Liebe geht es auf diesem Album. Zu hören sind »There Was A Ship«, eine Folk-Ballade über wiedervereinte Liebende, und »The Moon And The Sea«, eine Geschichte über unerwiderte Liebe. Das Titelstück und »The Final Year Of Blossom« sind inspiriert von der Fragilität unserer Welt – ebenso wie das von Rogers Tochter Cecily gestaltete Albumcover mit dem Bild einer Eintagsfliege als Metapher für die Kürze des Lebens.
Auf »Without Wind / Without Air« sind die Sopranistin Grace Davidson sowie Cecily und Lotti Eno zu hören. Jonathan Stockhammer dirigiert drei Stücke am Pult der Streicher von Scoring Berlin. Christian Badzura hat mehrere Tracks arrangiert und wirkt auch als Musiker mit; gemeinsam mit Roger Eno komponierte er zudem die Titel »Forgiveness« und »After Rain«.
