Wohl kaum ein Tasteninstrument klingt so zart und ist gleichzeitig so facettenreich im Ausdruck wie das Clavichord. Die direkte Mechanik erlaubt feinste Nuancierungen, sogar ein Vibrato ist möglich. Bach liebte das Instrument und brachte seinen Schülern am Clavichord Ausdruck und Affekte nahe. Lea Suter weiß dies für ihre neueste Einspielung fantasievoll einzusetzen und zeigt, welchen Reichtum an Inspiration in so bekannten Werken wie der Chromatischen Fantasie und Fuge, der e-Moll-Partita und selbst der grandiosen Chaconne für Violine solo steckt.
