Das täglich Brot für den berühmten Choir of King’s College Cambridge ist die musikalische Gestaltung in der Chapel of King’s College. Für die vorliegende CD hat sein langjähriger Leiter Stephen Cleobury 20 eigene Arrangements für Chor und Orgel bekannter englischer Kirchenlieder zusammengestellt.
Die Auswahl deckt den gesamten Jahreskreis ab, einschließlich Weihnachten und Ostern. Das Repertoire wird natürlich nicht nur in der College-Kapelle gesungen (wo auch die Aufnahme entstand), sondern in Kirchen auf der ganzen Welt. Nachsingen kann man die Arrangements übrigens auch, sie sind bei Edition Peters erschienen.
