Als erster nicht-russischer Pianist nach 1958 erhielt der Ire Barry Douglas mit gerade einmal 26 Jahren die Goldmedaille beim Tschaikowsky-Wettbewerb in Moskau. Es folgte eine beeindruckende Karriere als Pianist und bisweilen als Dirigent. Jetzt tritt er auch als Arrangeur in Erscheinung: mit eigenen Bearbeitungen keltischer Volksweisen, die mit Begleitung traditioneller Instrumente einspielt wurden.
