Wieder eine fröhliche Anthologie aus Versen und Musik von den Londoner Spezialistenensembles im Rahmen der Reihe »The Tudors«. »Lo, Country Sports« hat seinen Namen nach dem Madrigal von Thomas Weelkes. 1970 wurde die Produktion als Teil einer umfassenden Serie veröffentlicht: »Elisabethanisches Leben in Musik, Lied und Dichtung«. Dieses sorgfältig geplante Album bietet einige selten zu hörende Kleinode und überzeugt durch den Wechsel von Dichtung, gesungenen Madrigalen und instrumentalen Sätzen.
