Eine weitere Anthologie aus Versen und Musik vom Londoner Spezialistenensemble »Purcell Consort of Voices« im Rahmen der Reihe »The Tudors«. Im aufkommenden Alte-Musik-Revival der 1960er und 1970er Jahre gehörten die Londoner zu den führenden Ensembles, die sich auf historische Aufführungspraxis spezialisierten. Sie bereiteten dem Schütz Choir of London und dem Monteverdi Choir mit ihrer Pionierarbeit die Bahn.

1970 wurde die Produktion als Teil einer umfassenden Serie veröffentlicht: »Elisabethanisches Leben in Musik, Lied und Dichtung«. Dieses sorgfältig geplante Album bietet einige selten zu hörende Kleinode und überzeugt durch den Wechsel von Dichtung, gesungenen Madrigalen und instrumentalen Sätzen.
