Dieses Zitat von 1709 bezieht sich auf eine Gruppe von Musikanten, die durch das florierende London des 16. Und 17. Jahrhunderts zogen.

Ihre Werke werden nun auf dieser Neuerscheinung von ihren international etablierten Namensvettern The City Musick, unter der Leitung von William Lyons, neu aufgelegt. Dulziane, Kornette, Barockposaunen und Schalmeien erinnern dabei an die gesellschaftlichen Ereignisse, Theaterproduktionen und Gottesdienste der Ära und sind den unbeachteten Talenten der Stadtbläser gewidmet, zur Zeit als ihr Ansehen auf dem Höhepunkt war.
