Drei Dokumentationen rund um das Stuttgarter Ballett
In Sachen Ballett galt das Schwabenland als ausgesprochen provinziell, bevor John Cranko Ballettdirektor und Choreograf in Stuttgart wurde. Nach seiner Tätigkeit am Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London kam Cranko 1961 zum Stuttgarter Ballett und machte innerhalb eines Jahrzehnts aus einem kaum bekannten Ensemble eine der angesehensten Kompanien der Welt. Heute wird das Stuttgarter Ballett in einem Atemzug mit den Traditionshäusern in Moskau, St. Petersburg, London, Paris und New York genannt. Die vorliegende Sammlung fasst drei Dokumentationen zusammen: »Von Wundern und Superhelden – am Stuttgarter Ballett« über den Aufstieg der Truppe, »Marcia Haydée. Verführung zum Tanz« über die Ballerina, die als Muse Crankos gilt und »Friedemann Vogel – Verkörperung des Tanzes« über den Stuttgarter Tänzer, der die Bühnen der Welt eroberte.
