Im Zentrum dieser Aufnahme steht eine Suite, die der Dirigent Martin Yates aus Elgars Fragmenten zu dessen unvollendeter Oper »The Spanish Lady« erstellte. Die »Severn Suite« entstand ursprünglich 1930 für einen Wettbewerb von Blaskapellen und wurde ein Jahr später für Orchester arrangiert. Das Orgelstück »Civic Fanfare« schrieb Elgar ursprünglich 1927 für ein Chorfestival, der Organist Christopher Nickol hat alle drei erhaltenen Versionen aufgenommen. Elgars Orgelsonate von 1895 wurde 50 Jahre später von Gordon Jacob für Orchester bearbeitet.
