Die Musik reicht von Alan Rawsthornes quecksilbriger Violinsonate von 1958, die hier in einer BBC-Sendung zu Ehren von Mitchells zwei Jahrzehnte währender Partnerschaft mit dem verstorbenen Andrew Ball zu hören ist, bis zu Thea Musgraves lebendigem Colloquy. Die Folge von atmosphärischen, kommunikativen Stücken zeitgenössischer Komponisten erforscht Naturphänomene, Lieder der Freiheit, telefonische Frustration und ein Pas de deux-Liebesduett.
