Zum 400. Todestag Dowlands widmen sich Capella de la Torre und ihre künstlerische Leiterin Katharina Bäuml mit The English Experience - Ways to Dowland diesem musikalischen Kosmos - und nähern sich Dowland nicht auf direktem, sondern auf bewusst vielschichtigem Weg. Ein besonders reizvoller Aspekt ist dabei die Begegnung mit der Gegenwart: Das Album öffnet die historische Perspektive bis hin zum Jazzposaunisten Bart van Lier. Die Posaune fügt sich hier als moderne Stimme in den musikalischen Dialog ein.
