Die künstlerische Zusammenarbeit von John Maxwell Geddes und Stefan Grasse begann im Oktober 1988, als Geddes composer in residence" am Nürnberger Meistersinger-Konservatorium war und Grasse ebendort studierte. 1990 setzte Grasse sein Musikstudium an der RSAMD in Glasgow fort und konnte dadurch intensiv mit Geddes zusammenarbeiten.
