The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Raub der Flammen
Dass der britische Reger-Zeitgenosse Frederick William Holloway heute zu Unrecht weitgehend in Vergessenheit geraten ist, mag nicht zuletzt dem abrupten Ende seiner Tätigkeit am Londoner »Crystal Palace« geschuldet sein, wo er als Resident Organist wirkte: Am 30. November 1936 wurde die musikalische Wirkungsstätte Holloways durch ein Feuer vollkommen zerstört, die Orgel und wohl auch ein Teil seiner Musik ein Raub der Flammen. Seine noch erhaltenen Werke zeugen von einer unverkennbaren Affinität zur französischen Orgelästhetik des ausgehenden 19. Jahrhunderts. Markus Eichenlaub spielt auf dieser Aufnahme eine originale englische, dreimanualige Nelson-Orgel von 1904.
