Delightful playing and programming

Delightful playing, especially in the Remterorgel section of the programe. Shows off the organs, and the artistry of the guy largely responsible for two out of the three of them existing, perfectly. If it's not top-drawer repertoire, no worries, because actually this disc with for example a charming, imaginative and engaging performance of the Partita by Walther, and enjoyable performances of even more rarely-heard pieces, adds more to the world's discography than yet another album of Bach Preludes and fugues, and there's not a note of it that I wished they hadn't bothered with. Others may like it less, and those wanting cheap thrills will need to look elsewhere; but whoever couldn't manage more than one star must have a blind spot towards this sort of music, or a grudge against the performer, or maybe crossed wires because someone said it was Scheidt...
