Mit seinen insgesamt neun Cembalokonzerten lieferte Giovanni Benedetto Platti einige sehr frühe Beispiele für diese Gattung. Platti ist aber auch dafür bekannt, dass er einer der ersten Komponisten gewesen ist, die explizit für das damals noch neue Fortepiano geschrieben haben. Luca Guglielmi verwendet deshalb für seine Einspielung eine Kopie des »Gravicembalo col piano e forte« von Bartolomeo Cristofori.
