Regisseur Lasse Hallström (Chocolat), der in seinen Filmen meisterlich Gefühl und Humor vereint, inszeniert eine abenteuerliche Reise ins Reich der Fantasie. Neben Mackenzie Foy in der Hauptrolle (bekannt aus der Twighlight-Saga) mit dabei: Keira Knightley, Hellen Mirren und Matthew Macfayden.
