Mit »Not Our First Rodeo« erscheint endlich der Nachfolger vom Erfolgsalbum »The Goat Rodeo Sessions«, mit dem das singuläre Quartett von Starcellist Yo-Yo Ma, den Bluegrass-Virtuosen Stuart Duncan (eigentlich Geige, aber besser: Fiddle) und Chris Thile (Mandoline und anderes), sowie Edgar Meyer am Kontrabass ihre hochoriginelle und mehrfach mit dem Grammy prämierte Genremischung musikalisch begründeten.

Hier treffen mindestens Klassik und Folk aufs Schönste aufeinander. Jeder der Musiker gehört zu den Meistern seines Fachs – und heraus kommt einfach wunderbare, akustische Musik. Veredelt wird sie auch hier wieder mit zwei Titeln von der satten Stimme von Singer-Songwriterin Aoife O’Donovan, ebenfalls Grammy-Gewinnerin.
