Im Oktober 1952 hatte Mantovani seine erste Weihnachts-Single für Decca aufgenommen; es folgten 12 weitere Stücke für ein »Album for Christmas Music«, das in den 1950ern zu einem Bestseller wurde. 1958 wurden alle 14 Titel in Stereo neu eingespielt und das Album (hier auf CD1 zu hören) wurde ein Millionenseller. 1963 folgte eine weitere LP, »A Song for Christmas« benannt.
