Die Musik, die damals den prunkvollen Krönungsgottesdienst in Westminster Abbey begleitete, wurde von Warner Classics nun in HD-Qualität bearbeitet und – anlässlich der Feiern vom 2. bis 5. Juni 2022 – neu aufgelegt. Der Schriftzug auf dem Cover blieb derselbe: »The Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey, 2nd June 1953«. Die Krönungsmusik Queen Elizabeths II repräsentiert 500 Jahre englischer Kirchenmusik und vereint in sich die Vergangenheit mit der (damaligen) Gegenwart. Manche Werke waren für Krönungen früherer britischer Könige geschrieben, anderes entstand extra für Elizabeth II, wie die Fanfarenmusik Sir Ernest Bullocks. Unter den Werken findet sich auch das berühmte Krönungsanthem Zadok the Priest vom Wahl-Londoner Georg Friedrich Händel, das dieser einst für George II verfasst hatte. Die musikalische Umsetzung übernahmen Musiker aus dem gesamten Commonwealth, neben den Chören von Westminster Abbey und St. Paul’s Cathedral traten Chorsänger und namhafte Solisten aus ganz England, Schottland, Wales und Nordirland auf. Der Krönungschor umfasste mehr als 400 Sänger. Nach demselben Prinzip setzte sich das Orchester aus den besten Instrumentalisten des Königreichs zusammen.
