Diese Aufnahme ist eine Hommage an die chromatische Harfe, die mit ihren reichen Farben und theatralischen Effekten perfekt auf die impressionistische und Jugendstil-Atmosphäre der Jahrhundertwende abgestimmt war. Geoffrey Gordons Jeux de Création ist von der Musik der 1920er Jahre inspiriert, verwendet sowohl traditionelle als auch erweiterte Techniken und greift auf Themen von Milhaud und Debussy zurück, um Vergangenheit und Gegenwart darzustellen. Die anderen Werke dieses Programms spiegeln diese Ästhetik wider: die Kunstfertigkeit von Ravel und Fauré, die quasi-orchestralen Effekte von Debussys Danses und die sinnlichen und spektakulären Divertissements von Caplet.
