Die Produktion des Patriarchenchores der Christ-Erlöser-Kathedrale Moskau stellt geistliche Werke der Komponisten Alexander Kastalsky (1856-1926), Alexander Nikolsky (1874-1943), Pawel Tschesnokow (1877-1944), Alexander Aleksandrow (1883-1946) und Nikolai Golowanow (1891-1953) vor. Jeder dieser Komponisten durchlebte 1917 den Zusammenbruch des zaristischen Russlands und der bolschewistischen Revolution. Jeder vollbrachte eine Heldentat, indem er unter Einsatz des eigenen Lebens dem Bruch mit uralten Traditionen Widerstand bot. Nicht zuletzt dank ihrer lebt die Chor-Tradition Russlands auch heute noch weiter.
